Paul Trapp earned his MFA in painting from Illinois State University in 2011. While attending, he was the College of Fine Arts’ nominee for the University Graduate Student Teacher Award. He has work in the permeant collections at Penang State Museum & Art Gallery in Malaysia, and at Bethany Lutheran College. Most recently he received a scholarship to The League Residency at VYT in New York. Along with his studio practice, he has worked as an art assistant to artist Harold Gregor, and has taught at Colleges and Universities in Minnesota and Illinois. He currently teaches at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon where he lives with his wife, son, and a guide dog in training.
